Founding Engineer

What you’ll do

As the first backend/infra hire, you’ll be responsible for everything under the hood:

· Design and build the backend from scratch using Python + FastAPI

· Set up all infrastructure (cloud, deployments, pipelines, monitoring)

· Create and optimize APIs powering key features and ML-driven experiences

· Build data pipelines and support the integration of machine learning models

· Make core architectural decisions that define how the product scales

· Work closely with product, founders, and the ML engineer to bring new ideas to life

What we’re looking for

· 3+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or Full-Stack Engineer

· Strong with Python and FastAPI (or similar frameworks like Flask)

· Solid experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP), Docker, CI/CD, and monitoring

· Able to design scalable APIs, backend systems, and data flows

· Comfortable working closely with ML teams / understanding model-serving patterns

· Someone who thrives in early-stage environments and can operate independently
